Before joining Duet, Karina spent two years working as a college and career adviser at a public high school in Malden, MA. It was through advising her students on their postsecondary futures that she discovered the organization. Inspired by their mission, she knew that she wanted to work at an organization that centers student success and helps them strive for the future they not only want, but deserve.
“As a first-generation American born and raised in the Bronx, NY, my parents made sure I knew of the power of education to uplift and inspire. I fought hard to get the education I deserved and I knew I wanted to help others do the same. Through Duet’s unique and innovative program, I get to do it every day.”
When not at Duet, Karina can be found catching the latest releases at her local movie theater or putting together her next baking creation.
